Stay prepared for the craziness of a more symbiotic-driven comic book movie, as Venom 2 is going on. The sequel to the Marvel Comics break-out last year kicked off production. Nonetheless, Tom Hardy wanted us to know about it, so the cat is still out of the bag. It’s probably going to be an intense shooting depending on some other relevant variables.
Tom Hardy shared a photo of himself in what looked like a make-up chair getting ready for filming. With an unidentified person appearing with him in the picture. With “W#’R’V3N0M2 day one,” the actor captioned the photo. So that marks the start of development pretty plainly. However, the post was deleted afterward. Thankfully, many fans have been able to get screenshots of the position that have circulated online since then.
Is Venom 2 is really in production or not?
Deleted or not, it makes a lot of sense that Venom 2 has started filming now. The release date is October 2020. That’s just under a year to finish this movie and get it in the box. For a blockbuster of this size, that’s no small task.
Recently, another exciting wrinkle was added. Andy Serkis, best known for his work as a director, specializing in movies such as Lord of the Rings and the Planet of the Apes. There’s no news yet if in this sequel we’re going to get a Spider-Man vs. Venom crossover appearance, or if that’s reserved for the future.
Andy Serkis and his former friend, Matt Reeves, have collaborated for The Batman. Serkis was selected as Alfred Pennyworth to star alongside Bruce Wayne by Robert Pattinson. With filming expected to begin at the beginning of next year.
That means that Serkis will have to do either with Venom 2 before that. The sequel sees the return of Woody Harrellson as Cletus Kasady, who was first seen in the post-credit scene of Venom. Venom 2 from Sony Pictures is expected to hit theaters on October 2, 2020.
