The latest instalment in George Lucas’s adventure thriller is slated to launch on July 9, 2021.
Who Is In It?
Harrison Ford has confirmed that he will return as Indiana Jones, the archaeology professor and adventurer. This is almost certainly his last stint as Indiana Jones. Among others, Karen Allen is likely to reprise her role as Marion Ravenwood. Shia LaBeouf will not return given his stint as Mutt was widely panned by critics and fans alike.
Where Does the Story Take Us?
Harrison Ford has dropped several hints about the plot in various interviews. This is what he had to say in an interview:
“Well, I’m not going to share the story with you because that doesn’t seem like a good idea. But we’ll see new developments in his life, his relationship. We’ll see part of his history resolved.”
Regardless, Harrison Ford is ready to grab his hat and whip and begin filming as Indiana Jones for the last time.
Is This a Rewrite?
This seems to be a pivotal time in the series. The biggest question on everyone’s minds is likely to be; Who is the next Indiana Jones? Harrison Ford said, “I’m Indiana Jones when I’m gone, He’s gone”. Well, we hope not. Chris Pratt has recently been looking the part, taming velociraptors and what not. This movie is definitely a defining moment for the Disney-owned series. The movie is likely to tie up loose ends and focus on Indiana Jones himself. Where they go next is anybody’s guess.
Is This The End Of Indiana Jones?
Fans can take a breather though, as Spielberg has confirmed that Indiana Jones will not be killed off in the movie. Disney CEO, Bob Iger also confirmed that the movie is “not a one-off” but the future of the franchise is unknown.
