The upcoming Netflix Original series is based on the Capcom game Resident Evil. The franchise which began in 1996 has generated numerous video game sequels, novels, and a popular movie franchise named Resident Evil. It still stands strong even after over a decade’s history. The franchise continues to impress their fans because of the variable source material at its disposal.
Release Date:
The series, after a lot of speculations, confirmed the beginning of production on April 19. The series might launch in 2021, as it been in production throughout mid-2020.
Cast:
Though the official cast has not been revealed yet, rumour has it that some of them might be Charlie Cox, Felicity Jones, Emma Watson, Matthew McConaughey and David Arbor. Though it might be just speculation, these actors kind of fit in the shoes of the characters from the franchise.
Plot:
The series is speculated to keep its basic premise and building on it. The series will explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus. One of the original Netflix’s media site listed “The town of Clearfield, MD has long stood in the shadow of three seemingly unrelated behemoths – the Umbrella Corporation, the decommissioned Greenwood Asylum, and Washington, D.C. Today, twenty-six years after the discovery of the T-Virus, secrets held by the three will start to be revealed at the first signs of outbreak.” Though this description was soon removed.
Fan Expectations:
The fans can expect a live-action adaptation of the existing franchise. Since Constantin Germany only handles live-action adaptations, fans can expect a good series. The series will most likely build around the main plot of the franchise. Fans can expect a thrilling series just as good as the games. The wait of Resident Evil gaming community will not be in vain!
