It’s a shame that the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park get their feast before I do. The franchise that refuses to end returns for another ‘no expenses spared’ fiesta. The movie hits the theatres on June 10, 2021.
The Dino Tamers Are Back
Chris Pratt returns as Owen ‘Dino-tamer’ Brady. Bryce Dallas Howard returns albeit with a fresh new Ellie Sattler-esque look. Here’s the chic look. Sam Neill (Alan Grant) and Laura Dern(Ellie Sattler) return to the series after a prolonged absence. Rockstar Scientist Ian Malcolm will also feature, played by Jeff Goldblum.
Where’s The Story Headed?
After exhausting the theme-park-gone-wrong genre, the movie is now exploring dino-human interactions (Hint: One of them becomes an appetizer). The dinosaurs are in the wild and free to roam. A short film released recently explores just what exactly will happen in such encounters. Watch it here. Expect to see a lot of tiny and adorable dino babies with humongous 40 foot tall T-Rexes. After all, which Jurassic Park movie is complete without the alpha predator? Can humans adapt to a world of dinos? Will the evil Ingen Corp. (how is it still alive anyway?) wreak havoc yet again?
Geeky or Thrilling?
The last two movies sent the science behind the dinos for a toss. This one seems to go back to the geeks with Dr.Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler returning. Expect a lot of action sequences, pterodactyls and velociraptors interspersed with the odd “Life, Uh, Finds A Way.” We believe that the movie is likely to be more nuanced and balance the often thoughtless action and ridiculous genetic engineering with the geeky approach of the scientists. That said, however, this is still bound to be a chomping monster fest with plenty of action.
Here’s a fun fact too, the movie releases on the exact same date that the original Jurassic Park (“Spared no expense!”) opened in 1993. That’s 27 years ago!
