Knightfall, the historical fiction drama television series, is back with its season 3. Created by Don Handfield and Richard Rayner for the History channel, it describes the achievement, fall, mistreatment, and concealment of the Knights Desk, as organized by King Philip IV of France on October 13, 1307.
Release and Trailer:
It is so far unconfirmed if Knightfall will be back with season 3, but the demand for season three is still high as it has several loose ends that have left the fans guessing the future of the show. Fans also have queries regarding the return of Mark Hamil in his role as the veteran Knight Templar. It took approximately 8 months for the season to get a renewal after its first broadcast in December 2017. After the end of season 2 in March 2019, fans can expect it to return with season 3 by January 2021. The trailer of season three is not officially released but we can expect a sneak peek soon.
Cast:
The cast is expected to remain the same as in season 1 with the return of Tom Cullen (Landry), Jim Carter, Simon Merrells (Tancrede), Julian Ovenden (William De Nogaret), and Tom Forbes (Prince Louise). We also expect the return of Mark Hamil, who participated in season 2.
Plot:
The story plot is set in the 14th century and narrates the tale of the Knights Templar, a mysterious order of religious knights who played a pivotal role in the Crusades. It also depicts the eventual downfall at the hands of King Phillip IV of France and Pope Clement V.
The return of Mark Hamil is related very closely to the fate of the show’s third season. The legendary Star Wars actor might be seen as the wisened Knight Templar Talus. In the last episode of season 2, Talus can be seen fighting a huge band of knights to protect his Templar comrades. Despite the fears that he could lose his life, we can see him limping away after the fight, keeping the possibility of his return alive. If ever the show is renewed for a third season, fans can expect Talus to return.
Stay tuned for more such updates and releases!
