Taboo Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Plot and More

Tom Hardy’s 19th-century caper, Taboo is returning for another season. The first season was launched in 2017 in the UK. The next season is expected to launch in mid-2020.

What’s The Hold-Up?

The show has been held up by busy production schedules of Venom. Not just this, Knight’s busy schedule is holding up things too. But now, it seems that we finally have some confirmation of season 2.

“We are grateful and excited to continue our relationship with the BBC and FX in contributing to British drama. Fantastic news,” Hardy said after the Beeb announced the second season.

So far, Hardy’s the only confirmed returnee for Taboo season 2 – he did co-create it with his dad, Chips Hardy, after all.

The Details We Know

James is sailing to America. According to Steven Knight;

“In my mind, explosive stuff is going to happen, which will be great,” Knight said. “There’s a great destination for it, but I don’t know if we’re in a position to talk about the actual details of it.”

Hardy says the show will revolve around the US spy network, Colonnade.

There’s no chance of getting stale – it’ll be three series and out for Taboo, with Knight having a very clear idea of the show’s three-act structure in his head.

Knight said; “If we all stick with it and we all want to keep doing it, it would be three [seasons]. That’s my plan. Because I’ve got a geographical sort of route for the thing to take. It’s basically a journey west,” says Knight.

There aren’t any more details about the show yet. Nor is the trailer out. We do hope to see the season teaser soon enough and we will, of course, update you the moment it drops. Stay connected for upcoming updates.
