The fantasy swashbuckler films produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Pirates Of Caribbean is coming to theatres soon with its 6th instalment. Here are all the deets you need to know.

Is it Renewed or Cancelled

The series indeed has been renewed for a 6th instalment. Pirates of Caribbean first debuted the entertainment industry on July 9, 2003, with Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Further on July 7, 2006, the series released its 2nd instalment Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. Then next year on May 25, 2007, with its 3rd instalment, Pirates of Caribbean: At World’s End. Pirates of Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales were released on May 20, 2011, and May 26, 2017, respectively.

Although the renewal for the sixth instalment was announced in 2017 no further updates have been given by the moviemakers yet. In October of the same year, Kaya Scodelario stated that she is contractually signed to return for a sixth film. Shortly after, it was confirmed that Rønning will direct the film.

Although the previous film ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’ was the lowest-grossing film in the franchise, the forthcoming movie will be a continuation of its prior.

Although the movie was expected to be released this year according to Disney the movie may release its sixth instalment in mid-2021. New writers Jeff Nathans on and Terry Rossio are working on the script of the film and plan to change the lead character to a female lead.
