Ever since it was launched, Amazon has brought several shows at our disposal. These include the likes of Bosch, Inside Edge, Star Trek Discovery, and so on. Created by Akiva Goldsman, Michael Chabon, Kirsten Beyer, and Alex Kurtzman, Star Trek Picard debuted on CBS in January 2020. Since then, the American web TV show is one of the most loved shows of all time.
The show is set in the 24th, 18 years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis. As the name suggests, the show follows the journey of retired admiral Jean Luc Picard. After losing Commander Data and the Romulus destroyed, Picard hasn’t had the easiest of times. The show follows Picard as he steps into the next chapter of his life.
With an IMDb rating of 7.6/10 and the Tomatometer at 87%, the show has been a smash hit. After the first season, the fans are eagerly waiting for season 2.
Release Date
The first season premiered on 23rd January 2020. Production of the second season was scheduled to start in June 2020. However, the pandemic has brought every major production to a halt. There has been NO official announcement regarding the release date for Season 2. Judging by the current situation, Season 2 is likely to release at the start of 2021.
Star Trek Picard: Season 2 Plot
The show picks up nearly 20 years after the events of Star Trek Nemesis. Jean Luc Picard lost his friend and Commander Data during the destruction of Romulus. Since then, Picard has been living out his twilight years anticipating supernatural activities as they come.
At the end of Season 1, Picard is transferred into a brand new plastic body. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how he manages to sustain his new life condition. According to co-creator Michael Chabon, season 2 will have more focus on fleshing out its characters. This means we’ll get a peek into several personal aspects of the crew.
