Walt Disney World Decides To Cut Theme Park Hours By Next Month

Four theme parks of Walt Disney World in Florida will have reduced hours from 8th September 2020. Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studio, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be closing one hour earlier every day whereas the EPCOT will close two hours before the normal time. This new timing will be for now continued up to October.

Due to coronavirus and lockdown, the parks were closed from March and opened in July. To maintain safety measures, the operation capacity has been reduced too. The authorities have requested the visitors coming to the parks to wear masks and follow other guidelines.

The loss is more than they presumed, the CEO and the CFO said. Disney reported a 3.5 billion dollars hit to the division of theme parks.

Anaheim’s Disneyland is shut till now. A few in Asia and Europe are open and running with limited capacity. The picture is the same for Paris and Tokyo. Hong Kong’s resort got closed even after re-opening as the number of coronavirus cases increased.

As per reports, “Parks, Experiences and Products proceeds for the quarterly period diminished 85% to $1.0 billion, and section operating outcomes declined $3.7 billion to $2.0 billion. Inferior operating outcomes for the quarterly period were owing to decreases at both the national and global parks and experiences biz houses and to a lesser amount, at our merchandise licensing and retail biz sections.”
