The Wachowskis’ Sense8 will never be seen again on Netflix. The streaming site has been canceled it after two seasons. After the cancellation of the big-budget musical drama ‘The Get Down’, it is another big decision for the web platform. Already a statement has been released from Netflix to announce their decision. The series featuring Anthony Mackie and Joel Kinnaman in the lead roles has been cancelled.

Altered Carbon is a big-budget series, estimated about $9 million per episode, which is comparable to ‘Game Of Thrones’. Netflix original content VP Cindy Holland did not show any concrete cause to cancel the series. The fans speculated the decision as season 3 of Carbon had not been announced since weeks. The adult sci-fi series debuted in 2018. It was based on a popular series of novels but failed to create regular viewers after two seasons.

It seems that Netflix is determined about cancellations of those series which will not be big hits. Netflix CEO Hastings told that he had been pushing Netflix’s original team personally to take big risks and let things fail. On the other side, the site recently canceled ‘The Society’ and ‘I Am Not Okay With This’ in the pandemic environment.

The makers of Altered Carbon, Sense8 had a fixed fan base but it is not enough to justify the big-budget it was allocated to. Because of not being able to make it for Netflix’s standard viewership, it was concluded with a two hour special episode, the latest reports have stated.

Earlier the streaming site allowed original content to continue with several seasons and waited for viewers. But now the scenario has changed. As there is a very tough competition the site has decided not to allow big budget series to continue after one or two seasons if it cannot hold the fan base.
