LGBTQ Movie ‘Happiest Season’ Starring Kristen Stewart Is A ‘Fun Christmas Movie!’

The holiday season is right around the corner which means it’s time to binge Christmas themed movies! Happiest Season is a Christmas themed romantic comedy that breaks the traditional rom-com love between a man and a woman and is set around a Lesbian couple’s story in the holiday season. The film is romantic and slightly intense but you’re gonna love it! The film has Kristen Stewart as Abby, Mackenzie Davie as Harper, Daniel Levy as John, and Aubrey Plaza as Riley.

The Storyline

Abby is happily in a relationship with Harper and decides to take a big leap to propose to her year-long girlfriend. Harper has other plans for Abby to meet her family on Christmas celebration. So she invites her and on the way to the family’s home, Harper tells Abby her parents don’t know about her sexuality. All this while, Harper lied to her parents about Abby, claiming to be only her roommate and nothing more.

The story has all the elements of a perfect romantic comedy. It is cheesy, fun, romantic, and very light! Stewart playing a part in a ‘Manic Christmas film’ is so unlike her! It’s nice to have films on your watchlist that are not really serious and gets you to chuckle once in a while. This film is the perfect way to start the holiday season.

Kristen Stewart is Pro LGBTQ

Kristen has revealed her sexuality long before in February 2017 and plays a vital role in giving a voice to the LGBTQ community. In an SNL episode she hosted, she addresses Donald Trump’s tweets about her relationship with Robert Pattinson.

A rom-com breaking conventions on traditional love is long overdue. We’re happy there is finally a holiday film with a queer love story. It features Kristen Stewart and that to me is a bonus!

Kristen describes ‘Happiest Season’ as “heartwarming, slightly stressful and manic Christmas movie — which are definitely my favourite ones because that is what Christmas actually feels like.” Catch the film on Hulu!
