The DC Extended Universe might be switching up their cast with Matt Bomer from Doom Patrol replacing Henry Cavill in the role of the widely popular superhero – Superman.
A Superman fan-poster by an Instagram user who goes by the name “@skull101ify” shows the Negative Man actor in the iconic, tight fitted blue and red suit, had fans wondering over the possibility of a future replacement.
It is possible that Henry Cavill might not be starring as Superman in future ventures due to scheduling differences between the actor and Warner Bros. Pictures. “In the script, we had a little scene with Superman — but we only had a very narrow window to shoot this scene in the school, so we tried to make it work with Henry Cavill, but schedules did not align,” said Shazam filmmaker David F. Sandberg regarding their scheduling conflict.
Also, the production company is now looking to explore the stories of other DCEU characters like Supergirl.
How Much Of A Fit Is Matt Bomer In The Role Of Superman?
The Magic Mike actor has previously voiced the Last Son of Krypton in the animated superhero movie Superman: Unbound, so such an assumption might not be too far-fetched. He also has prior experience in the superhero realm, well known for playing the role of Negative Man in the Doom Universe.
Physically too he matches the character of Superman with his sharp features and dark hair. Although, Bomer has previously mentioned he prefers the role of Negative Man.
