About The Promised Neverland
The Promised Neverland is one of the coolest Japanese mangas with an amazing art style. The series has been illustrated by Posuka Demizu. Most interestingly it is written by the elusive popular writer Kaiu Shirau.
Due to the buzz around this amazing manga, it was made into an anime that is too good to be true. The manga was published from 2016 – 2020. A light novel was also published later in 2018. The Promised Neverland was made into an anime in 2019 because of the quality of the original manga. Now they are back with a much-awaited The Promised Neverland season 2 and we are already close to E2.
The anime show is futuristic and a dark take on fantasy. We are in the year 2054 when we meet our main character Emma. Emma is 11 years old and she lives in an orphanage with several other kids. The kids in the orphanage never really see the outside world because of the strict caretaker Isabella.
One day another orphan Conny is adopted and goes into the outside world. Emma and her friends Norman and Ray bid Conny goodbye but realise she forgot her favourite toy. As they race to give her the toy, they see that Conny is dead.
This is the way they uncover a conspiracy – the orphanage is a slaughterhouse, raising kids to be killed to feed a demon species. Because they reach this realisation, the three friends decide to escape the orphanage.
The Promised Neverland is very dark and gloomy but it sure makes you think. It is one of the best anime shows and season 2 episode 2 can’t come fast enough for us.
