In the first season, they cover the first five volumes of the story. There are at least 22 more volumes in the series. Thus, there is a lot of buzz around the upcoming Season 2.
The Rising Of The Shield Hero is applauded by fans and critics for its great story and characters. In the story, we follow Naofumi Iwatani – a young Japanese man who is transported to another world. Along with him, three others from different universes also find themselves in this situation.
All of them have been selected to be Cardinal Heroes. Their job is to fight special monsters called Waves. Each of them gets their own custom weapons and skills to do this. Our hero Naofumi has the Legendary Shield, while others have more offensive weapons. Things get much worse for our Shield Hero – as he is betrayed by a princess and made an outcast.
This makes Naofumi angry and he channels his anger into training as a hero solo. Through the series we see Naofumi going on adventures with his other Cardinal Heroes and defeating the Waves. Slowly our hero gains peoples trust and saves the world one bit at a time.

The Rising Of The Shield Hero became immensely popular among fans globally. The show has a great storyline that sucks you in completely. The show is premiered through Crunchyroll and Funimation. In 2019 at a Crunchyroll Expo it was announced that there will be a second and third season. Later it was revealed that The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2 will premiere in 2021.
