When Licht awakens in the gravity hole, he is confronted by several Aces masks who condemn his actions and encourage him to surrender up and perish. Licht realizes he was the one who killed so that his peers wouldn’t have to, and he chooses to die. Hina yells for Licht to return, and Licht keeps his word. He removes the masks and divides the gravity well, allowing him to flee and erase Doan’s memories. Doan retrieves Hina’s ballot and then departs. Lynn wakes up and realizes that Licht has rejected her. Murdoch reminds Nana that when he turned to the future, he pledged to play with her. Pele confronts Licht in private, wondering how Licht knew Pele was capable of saving Lynn’s life.
