In the early 1990s, two men meet in Berlin: one is an art student with great ambitions, the other is a computer nerd. After meeting at a techno club in 1993, they came up with the concept of producing a worldwide piece of art that would allow people to go to any spot on the planet by simply zooming in with a mouse click. They immediately recognized that the machines available in the early 1990s were insufficient for their purpose. But that might change, thanks to the support of a telecommunications behemoth and seasoned hackers: they were funded by Deutsche Telekom, and the coders were Chaos Computer Club members.
