Three mountaineers swept away by an avalanche die in Greece

Three climbers have died at the Greek resort of Kalávrita, apparently swept away by an avalanche of snow. Their bodies have been found this Sunday after the alarm was raised on Saturday when the station staff saw that their car was the only one that remained in the parking lot.

The three climbers, aged between 50 and 55, were experienced and had set out on Saturday morning to climb the 2,355-meter Mount Helmos, in Peloponnesia in south-western Greece.
