Sacha Baron Cohen will be with Cate Blanchett in the Apple series, ‘Disclaimer’

As Deadline reports, Oscar-nominated actor Sacha Baron Cohen has begun negotiations to join the cast of the future adaptation of Renee Knight’s novel, ‘disclaimer’ (known in Spain as ‘Observada’). Cohen will join previously announced stars Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline in this Apple TV+ thriller miniseries. In it, Blanchett will play Catherine Ravenscroft, a successful and respected television journalist whose work has been based on revealing the hidden transgressions of respected institutions. When an intriguing novel written by a widower, played by Kline, turns up on her nightstand, she is horrified to realize that she is a key character in a story he hoped was buried in the past. A story that reveals her darkest secret. A secret that she thought was hers alone. The miniseries will be written and directed by Alfonso Cuarn (“Roma”), who is also an executive producer. Blanchett, Gabriela Rodríguez from Esperanto Filmoj and David Levine, Dawn Olmstead, Steve Golin and Renee Knight from Anonymous Content will also participate in the executive production, in a production by Esperanto Filmoj and Anonymous Content. Last year, Baron Cohen earned a string of Oscar nominations for his acclaimed performances in Aaron Sorkin’s “The Trial of the Chicago 7” and “Borat,” Jason Woliner’s sequel film.
