MBC’s next drama «tomorrow«, is a fantasy drama about grim reapers. While the Grim Reapers are supposed to guide the dead, in this story, they are trying to save people who want to commit suicide. Based on a webtoon of the same name, the series adaptation is written by Park Ran, Park Ja-kyung and Kim Yoo-jin. The address is from the PD Kim Tae-yoon from the movie “Mr Zoo Missing VIP”. The drama had been announced to premiere first on March 18, then on the 25th, and finally it has been set for the next April 1.
The synopsis is: After being unemployed for three years, Choi Joon Woong decides to take his own life and goes to a bridge to jump off it. However, he finds someone else who is also about to jump off the bridge and gets into a fight trying to save him. In the fight, the two accidentally fall off the bridge. A Grim Reaper-led crisis management team arrives late on the scene, and Choi Joon Woong ends up falling into a three-year coma with his soul escaping from his body due to a mistake caused by the Grim Reapers. Now a soul who is half alive and half dead unexpectedly lands a job on the crisis management team of the underworld’s foremost grim reaper company. His work on the team involves taking special care of people at high risk of suicide and helping them want to go on living. The teaser begins with Choi Joon Woong witnessing the chaos that unfolds before him. A man falls off his motorcycle, which spirals toward a helpless woman. Choi Joon Woong yells “no” as he runs towards her. With the snap of Goo Ryun’s fingers, things come to a complete stop. Stunned, he asks, “What did you do?” She calmly replies, “I saved her. I am an angel of death who saves humans.” That sentence alone hints that this is no ordinary story about Grim Reapers, known to represent death. Goo Ryun shows the charismatic side of him as he deals with ruthless gangsters, and Choi Joon Woong shows the warmth of him as he enthusiastically tells someone, “I will do my best to help you.” Fans are also intrigued by the tense war of nerves between Lim Ryoong Goo and Park Joong Gil ( Lee Soo-hyuk ) when they engage in a physical fight. The clip ends with the Jade Emperor (played by Kim Hae Sook ) saying, “Welcome to Joomadeung ”, which is the monopoly of the afterlife. «tomorrow» will have 16 episodes of action, drama and fantasy.
