Oscar-nominated actor Harrison Ford (‘Blade Runner 2049’) has signed on to star opposite Jason Segel in the upcoming Apple TV+ comedy series, ‘shrinking’. In his first regular television role Ford will play the role of Dr. Phil Rhodes, a guy described as a veteran psychiatrist. The story revolves around Phil, a pioneer in cognitive behavioral therapy who has built a successful practice over the years that he shares with his two young protégés, Jimmy and Gaby. Extremely independent, Phil has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. , forcing him out of his comfort zone as he grapples with nosy friends, his estranged family, and his legacy. ‘shrinking’ will be a 10-episode comedy written and executive produced by Segel alongside ‘Ted Lasso’ writers Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein, with Lawrence also serving as showrunner. The series will be produced by Warner Bros. Television and Doozer Productions, with production executive for Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer as part of Lawrence’s deal with Warner Bros. Television.
