Will Ferrell has been the last to join the cast of the movie ‘Barbie‘ that Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are already shooting for Warner Bros., Heyday Films, LuckyChap Entertainment and Mattel Films, the film division of the company that owns the famous brand of dolls. No details about his argument have emerged for now beyond that Robbie will play Barbie, Gosling Ken and Ferrell the CEO of a toy company that may or may not be Mattel itself. Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Simu Liu, Emma Mackey and America Ferrera are also part of the cast of this film directed by Greta Gerwig (‘Lady Bird’, ‘Little Women’) from a script she has written with her husband, the filmmaker Noah Baumbach (‘Frances Ha’, ‘Marriage Story’). ‘Barbie‘ to be produced by Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley of LuckyChap Entertainment, Robbie Brenner of Mattel Films and David Heyman of Heyday Films, without Warner Bros. having yet set a theatrical release date for it. Ferrell, whom we last saw in ‘The Shrink Next Door’, the interesting Apple TV + miniseries in which he shared the lead with Paul Rudd, has pending the premiere at the end of the year of ‘The Spirit of Christmas’, musical version from the classic ‘Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens, also backed by Apple, in which he has starred alongside Ryan Reynolds (and whose first images you can see below).
