Via Deadline they report that Tom Hanks and his partner Gary Goetzman have signed an agreement with Apple TV + through Playtone to develop various projects, among which is a sequel to ‘Greyhound: Enemies Under the Sea‘. Hanks and Goetzman seem to have found a new home on the platform, after having collaborated on the aforementioned war drama, the fantasy drama ‘Finch’ or the future series set in World War II, ‘Masters Of The Air’. Based on CS Forrester’s 1955 nonfiction novel ‘The Good Shepherd’ (not to be confused with the 2006 film of the same name), the 2020 film is set in the midst of World War II, with Captain Krause (Hanks) leading the charge. a convoy of 37 ships, on a crucial mission through the dangerous Atlantic waters crowded with German submarines. Aaron Schneider directed this film written by Hanks himself, who is joined in his cast by Elisabeth Shue, Stephen Graham, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Lee Norris, Karl Glusman and Rob Morgan, among others. The multi-year global agreement signed between Playtone and Apple TV+ includes the exclusive development, production and distribution of all forms of television worldwide, including movies, series, documentaries, shows or reality shows.
