Thus, the Euro Stoxx 50 ended the session down 2.24%, to 3,840 points, while our domestic index, the Ibex 35, also closed in a more moderate negative, with a drop of 1, 84%, up to 8,652 points. In the year as a whole, the practically flat Spanish index continues to stand out (-0.7% in the year), against the 10.6% drop in its European counterpart. At a sector level, the worst performance was seen in the banking, energy, industrial, and especially retail or travel sectors, while we saw smaller corrections in personal consumption, food, technology and electricity. With regard to values, in the Ibex 35 the most notable was the rise of Red Eléctrica and Telefónica, with Endesa closing flat. Meanwhile, Ferrovial fell, after weak results from its Canadian highway, Arcelor, Inditex or the pharmaceutical company Rovi. In the Euro Stoxx 50, the best performance was for Prosus, the only positive value, with slight falls for Ahold, Bayer, Danone and Deutsche Boerse, while Kering corrected after results, along with Siemens, Linde, Adidas and especially Adyen. In the United States, the main indices closed on Friday with unseen losses so far this year and with the fear that rate hikes could weigh down economic growth even more. The US stock markets opened the last session of the week flat, but they were diluted to end with a dramatic correction of 2.77% for the S&P 500, to 4,271 points and with technology also down (Nasdaq -2.65%) . The S&P 500 falls 10.3% in the global calculation of the year and is close to the lows of March.
