Today Showtime has presented the first previews of two of its series to premiere next fall, ‘American Gigolo’ Y ‘Three Women’, which as usual we can see in Spain thanks to Movistar Plus +. Jon Bernthal, Gretchen Mol and Rosie O’Donnell lead the cast of the television version of the well known movie 1980 written and directed by Paul Schrader. Bernthal and Mol take on the roles played by Richard Gere and Lauren Hutton in that film, in what is billed as a remake that also works as a sequel. Bernthal plays Julian Kaye after being released from prison and having unfairly served fifteen years of his sentence. As she tries to make up for lost years and reconnect with her former lover (Mol), Detective Sunday (O’Donnell) tries to uncover the truth about the murder that sent Julian to jail… For her part, Shailene Woodley, DeWanda Wise, Betty Gilpin and Gabrielle Creevy are the protagonists of ‘Three Women’television adaptation of the novel by Lisa Taddeo that in Spain we know as ‘Three women’. Published in our country by Principal de los Libros, it is a portrait of female desire and sexuality as never seen before. For eight years, journalist Lisa Taddeo (Woodley) has traveled across the United States to follow the story of three ordinary women and explore how sexual desire has shaped their lives. We will meet Lina (Gilpin), a woman who, trapped in a passionless marriage, reconnects with someone from her past and begins an affair that soon consumes her; Maggie (Creevy), a seventeen-year-old girl who is romantically involved with her attractive English teacher, a married man; and Sloane (Wise), the elegant and successful restaurant owner whose husband enjoys watching her sleep with other people.
