Innovative Camps for Summer 2022

The camps are an ideal alternative for children to enjoy their free time and continue learning during the summer holidays. The options for this 2022 are multiple: campus on justice and debate, to learn engineering and computer science, robotics… We collect below a selection with some of the most innovative alternatives.

ECAM Urban Film Camp

This summer the Madrid film school becomes a huge set where young people from 8 to 17 years old will unleash their creativity to live a true cinematographic experience through practical workshops with professionals from the sector. Enrollment is for weeks and is designed so that any minor can enjoy the camp regardless of when they join. It has three training itineraries: ‘Playing at making movies’ (8 to 10 years old), ‘Young filmmakers’ (11 to 13 years old) and ‘My first film’ (14 to 17 years old), designed so that each age group knows the seventh art through the different cinematographic genres or the history of cinema. Technological Camp

Among the many activities included is ‘Minecraft with Scratch’, in which young people develop skills such as knowledge of the Java programming language or creativity. It also develops ‘inventor lab’ workshops that work with different technologies: assemble a LEGO robot with its sensors, motors or create your own video games with Kodu, Scratch or MakeCode Arcade. For the older ones, the campus has Unity workshops, Python with Artificial Vision, 3D Printing with Arduino Education or programming of the Robotic Arm robot or the Pepper humanoid robot. Campus ICADE Justice and Debate

The objective of the Comillas Pontifical University Law School summer program is to familiarize participants with the work of jurists, encouraging them to act as deputies, legislators or lawyers. In this way, they will have the opportunity to represent fictitious political parties and participate in plenary sessions and commissions defending the interests of their party while four different laws are being drafted. Thus, they will learn how laws are born, what is the relationship between Law, Justice and Politics, and how each citizen can contribute their grain of sand in this important work. Where? ICAI Technological Campus

An educational project that celebrates its eighth edition and whose purpose is to awaken interest in engineering, robotics and technology (STEM vocations) among attendees, improving their skills in these areas and the chances of academic and professional success. The participants will learn in a practical and playful way that engineering and technology are part of their world, and that they are powerful tools to improve their environment by providing innovative and creative solutions. It also promotes the values ​​of entrepreneurship among the youngest through teamwork, innovation and creativity. To make this possible, its methodology is based on learning and overcoming daily challenges. In fact, most activities are carried out as a team, forming groups of between 2-4 students, promoting collaborative work and respect among them at all times. Space Camp

In this one-week camp, children have the opportunity to take their first steps in the space race by piloting aircraft, experiencing zero gravity, training their body and mind in a human gyroscope and programming space missions with Rovers. There are no simulators; Participants go to an airfield where a professional and accredited pilot teaches them how to fly, as well as the basics of flight and crew. Once prepared, they can board a real aircraft as co-pilots, take off and fly over Valencia. In addition, the youngsters train in an environment that simulates zero gravity and learn to orient themselves and perform activities while shifting their center of gravity using a human gyroscope.
