John Hammond’s (and Tom Cruise’s) dinosaurs are still very much alive

The dinosaurs have returned. ‘Jurassic World: Dominion‘ grosses in its North American opening 143.4 million (always) of dollars in 4,676 theaters. To contextualize, ‘Jurassic World’ debuted in 2015 with 208.8 million and ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ did so in 2018 with 148 million. It remains to be seen what his behavior will be taking into account the (deserved) sticks that are falling on him, although for now he already accumulates some 390 million worldwide, including the 5.4 that he would have collected in Spain since Thursday (and which in exchange are just over 5 million euros). The one we already know is holding up amazingly well is ‘Top Gun: Maverick‘, a film that in its third week on the bill collects another 100 million, 50 at home and another 50 in the international market. Its world total is already 747 million, 393.3 of them only in the United States. Throughout this next week it will exceed the 791.1 that ‘Mission Impossible: Fallout’ collected in 2018 and will become the highest-grossing Tom Cruise film worldwide. It is estimated that its final collection could exceed the barrier of 1,000 million, since everything indicates that it will become the highest grossing film of 2022 above ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘, which it seems will have to settle for “just” 950 million. And the week a no less expected return: Pixar’s with ‘Lightyear‘, just over two years after ‘Onward’.
