Ever since Netflix’s original drama “Squid Game” became the biggest hit of Korean productions on the platform, fans started asking for a second part and while the director and/or the leads did their round of interviews and collecting awards, it was inevitable that they would end up talking about the continuation of this story, but until then, it was just speculation. But, this weekend Netflix released its first sneak peek of the highly anticipated second season of the show. Playing the famous game “Red Light, Green Light” from “Squid Game”, Netflix officially announced on its social media channels that it had greenlit Season 2 by writing, “Red light… GREEN LIGHT! ¡Squid Game officially returns for season 2! In addition to a creepy video teaser featuring the unforgettable motion-sensing doll Younghee, Netflix also shared a special message from the director, writer, and executive producer of “Squid Game”, Hwang Dong-hyuk. In his message, Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed that both Lee Jung Jae What Lee Byung Hun will reprise their respective roles as Gi Hun and the leader in season 2, and also joked about the appearance of Gong Yoo (“the man in the suit with ddakji”) may also be making a comeback.
