MBC’s “From Now On Showtime” Final Review

We come to the end of “From Now On Showtime» from MBC, a story starring Park Hae Jin, Jin Ki Joo Y Jung Joon Ho. their final ratings were 3.2% and 4.2%, their highest rating was 4.6% in episode 8. I won’t get tired of saying that MBC does a lousy job of promoting and broadcasting their dramas, it’s almost like they don’t want us to we found out what he is broadcasting, not only does he not put videos on youtube, he even blocks those on instagram!! Oh well, “From Now on Showtime» has 16 episodes of mystery, comedy, romance and supernatural genres.

This Post Contains SPOILERS!!

The rhythm of the story is attractive, in the first part there is more comedy and mystery and in the second romance, mystery and drama. It is also a complete story where the characters do not change their values or personality from one episode to another. It has clichés of past lives, destined love, a love triangle, a vengeful spirit, shamans, super funny ghosts and one of those endings that we like with a wedding and a child, well we missed seeing the wedding but it is assumed, and so that we do not suffer, until reunions!! Of course, a nice chemistry between the cast that did an excellent job and I feel that dramalandia has already paid Park Haejin what he owed him with a quality story and a protagonist like Jin Ki Joo which made him shine and propelled his character.

Synopsis: Cha Cha Woong is a popular, if somewhat sardonic, stage and television magician with a flair for the spectacular. His tricks dazzle the public, but most people don’t know anything: he has a gang of secret helpers! However, these are not ordinary magician’s assistants: they are actually ghosts. But Cha Cha Woong is not afraid of beings from the spirit realm; in fact, he treats them like his employees…and they, in turn, believe he is his “boss.” One day, his path crosses that of Go Seul Hae, a passionate young police officer. He tries to ignore her when she investigates an incident involving one of her magic shows. But he soon realizes that the wizard’s unusual abilities could be the perfect crime-fighting tool. She manages to convince him to join the police force in their efforts to catch evil criminals, and use his ghostly entourage to help thwart the evil masterminds! But in the course of their unorthodox partnership, could romance also come into the picture? For me, “From Now on Showtime» is a familiar story with recycled plots and clichés, but as you progress, you get immersed in the plot and each new episode surpasses the previous ones, although some situations can be a bit predictable, but still everything is enjoyable. It continues to amaze me to the point where I didn’t even bother to jump/go ahead/predict what would come next. I just let the story take me. Without a doubt, it is an overwhelmingly refreshing moment filled with fun, madness, excitement, fear, mystique, flapping, embarrassment, sadness and a sense of satisfaction. It successfully tackles the theme of a feel-good pleasure trip. The writer and director did an excellent job of drawing us into their story, which while it feels already familiar, is somehow uniquely different; so yes, all we have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the show. There is no need to over analyze each particular situation. No need to dive in and dissect every detail. Just have fun and experience it all literally; laugh if it’s funny, close your eyes if it’s scary, shake your head if you can’t believe it, scream if you get angry or sad, cry if it’s too sad and clap your hands at the end with the beautiful leading couple and the little ones who accompany them, It will not be difficult for you to determine who is who!
