Wall Street encourages the European stock markets, which close with general increases

Posted on July 12, 2022 The European stock markets closed last week with general increases, except in Madrid, after having touched lows in the session. The Euro Stoxx 50 closed with a rise of 0.52%, to 3,506 points, while the Ibex 35 fell 0.27%, to 8,100 points. Wall Street raised the European stock markets, which until noon were having a session with falls. In the Euro Stoxx 50, the automobile sector stood out, with increases in Volkswagen (+5.91%), Stellantin (+3.83%) and Mercedes Benz (+3.75%). The rise of the chemical company BASF (+3.91%) also stood out. Among the stocks that closed with the greatest losses we find Prosus (-5.55%), Iberdrola (-4.19%) or L`Oreal (-3.91%). The Spanish stock market closed with declines weighed down by sectors such as chemicals and oil, financial services and telecommunications. The best value of the session on the Ibex 35 was Ferrovial, with an increase of 2.32%, followed by Acciona (+2.21%) and Aena (+2.18%). Iberdrola (-1.57%), Bankinter (-1.26%) and Repsol (-1.22%) finished in the queue. In the United States, the session closed on a mixed note, with gains in sectors such as health, consumer goods and technology, while basic materials, telecommunications and consumer services led markets lower. The Dow Jones fell 0.15%, the S&P 500 fell 0.08% while the Nasdaq gained 0.12%.
