Adam Scott is the latest performer to join the cast of ‘madam web‘, a new installment of Sony’s Marvel Universe that will be taken over by SJ Clarkson, an experienced television director who will make her film directing debut with this film. Scott will support Dakota Johnson, the great protagonist of a production to be released in July 2023, whose cast will also include Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Emma Roberts and Tahar Rahim. For their part, Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless (‘Gods of Egypt’, ‘Morbius’) sign the latest version of a script that Kerem Sanga had also previously worked on. In the comics, Cassandra Webb is an old lady with Myasthenia gravis and she is hooked up to a life support system that looks like a spider web. Due to her age and her medical condition, Cassandra never actively fought any villain, hence there is speculation that the film may choose a different path. The shooting of ‘madam web‘ has already begun in New York City, with images of the shoot already appearing on social media. In them you can see that the film will be set at the beginning of the 21st century, at the time when the first ‘Spider-Man’ starring Tobey Maguire is released. Hence, after the premiere of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, speculation has begun about the possibility that the film may have a cameo by the aforementioned Tobey Maguire in the role of Peter Parker… The hiring of Adam Scott has been announced just days after the actor was nominated for an Emmy for his role in the first season of ‘separation‘, one of the great television phenomena so far this year. Scott’s is one of fourteen nominations for this terrific and highly recommended Apple TV+ series created by Dan Erickson. In addition, we have recently been able to see him in another Apple series, ‘loot‘, which has also been renewed for a second season (despite not being as good as we expected).
