“If You Wish Upon Me“, before “Tell Me Your Wish” from KBS, finally reached our screens and as I said we are going to cry!! But surely we will also find meaning in a very emotional story that I hope will not become a moral message (1), please let the story run naturally as it did in the first chapters, do you read me KBS?? Please do not fall into your habit of giving us unsolicited behavior lessons, see that we know you and you do not miss an opportunity to give examples of behavior! The starting ratings were 3.6% and 3% There we go again with very different opinions between us and the Korean public!! I recognize the talent and charisma of Ji Chang Wook, but the truth is that his choice of scripts after the SM did not catch me, I felt as if he was going aimlessly and I was behind him, trying to discover what it was that he had seen in a script to accept it, but I always stayed like in integral calculus class, and look I didn’t fail it, but I still don’t know why I had to take that class!! But hey, after seeing the first episodes and exceeding my expectations at various times, I risk saying that I don’t plan to miss a single episode of this production because what I saw moved me, it raised doubts in me and now I want to solve them!!

«If You Wish Upon Me» is a drama inspired by a real organization that exists in the Netherlands that fulfills the wishes of cancer patients in a situation where these people are already just waiting for their death. The drama will focus on the story of a young man who is pushed to the brink by a life full of struggles, the boy is sent to a hospice hospital and joins the staff to fulfill people’s last wishes, trying to give a meaning to his empty and painful life. One of the first things that I liked was that the introductions of the characters were not too many, it seems that we will get to know them through their actions in the following episodes. We also had no scary or extremely painful scenes. Somehow what we saw introduces us to the world of these characters and lets us see them so that we discover who they are and why they are there and I appreciate this approach, let my brain do its thing. 😀 As for the actors, I liked everyone’s acting, yes Ji Chang Wook continues as I saw in these chapters, I could even aspire to a Daesang, the lord Sung Dong Il he’s a veteran, and it’s always fun to see him in whatever drama he’s in and well sooyoung She is once again a great boss, I hope you notice her muscles and her determination to do everything she can for her patients. Now, when we got to the part about the cute dog with a terminal illness, I thought ‘why are you doing this to me?’ I mean, being a fan of suspense, mystery and action can stand those cruel scenes of criminals attacking their victims, but don’t put children to pets suffering a painful death, because I get dehydrated!! So this situation is one of the most tearful things you can show me. Every time Yoon Gyeo-Rye talked to apparently the only fellow who has stayed with him the longest, she was fighting back tears. What am I going to do when he dies? But actually, I ended up crying many times during the premiere of “If You Wish Upon Me”. I liked how she put you in the middle of the story, but she still did a great job of making you feel a connection to her. If they don’t know, that’s not easy to do. The viewer can become a bit numb if he notices an intention on the part of the director and/or writer to manipulate his emotions, which is how I have felt in other dramas that deal with the theme of death. On the other hand, from the beginning they hint at a surprising, although still “probable” relationship between two of the protagonists, it would be incredible if it were true, but I will have no illusions, it may just be an element to bring the characters closer and change their thoughts . Mostly what we saw was through a very realistic approach and I hope it stays that way, so I don’t lose my connection to this project. I have a feeling that the writer will touch on many topics, including the many social problems in Korea through the people who are often abandoned in hospices.
Synopsis: Yoon Kyeo Re is a young man who has known nothing but misery since he was a child. He was abused in his childhood and had a hard time in the orphanage where he grew up. He then spent time in a juvenile detention center. And as an adult, things didn’t get any better, leading him to serve time in prison. Beatings and misery are all he knows. Coming out of prison, he has nowhere to go and no one to wait for him, ultimately all in front of him is emptiness… When a court orders him to do his community service at a hospice, the things start to change for him. Here he meets the tireless Kang Tae Shik, a middle-aged man who leads the team of volunteers at the facility. Kang Tae Shik has created a unit called Team Genie, which is dedicated to granting dying patients their last wishes. No matter what people ask for, Team Genie will do whatever it takes to make those precious last wishes come true. He also meets Seo Yeon Joo, a young nurse who refuses to give up on her patients and tries to keep them physically active at all times. Will working at this facility help change Yoon Gyeo Ree’s life? Or is it too late to change his destiny and his approach to life? The direction is in charge of the PD Kim Yongwan whose drama I have only seen «The Cursed» and the script belongs to the writer Jo Young Soobut I didn’t find any other project under its name… It will be 16 episodes of genres Life, drama and medicine.. (1) the moral, is a morality or set of rules of social behavior, followed or imposed in an exaggerated or trivial way, is used to carry out a superficial or petty judgment of the behavior of the other and whoever does it, intends to give a lesson, although his words are rather they lack depthare more one imposition that does not consider the reality of the other and are almost always inopportune.
