SS Rajamouli, responsible for ‘Baahubali: The Origin of the Legend’, ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ and ‘RRR’, three of the ten highest grossing Indian films in history, is already working on what will be his thirteenth film: A blockbuster provisionally known as ‘SSMB29’ in which he collaborates again with the screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad. The idea is to start shooting in the spring of 2023. The reason for its (provisional) title is very simple: It will be the 29th film starring Mahesh Babu, also known as “the Prince of Tollywood” and one of the most famous actors. popular and influential in Telugu cinema. Although the aforementioned Babu will be its main protagonist, in recent hours many Indian media have echoed the possibility that Chris Hemsworth could have an “extended cameo” in the film. According to this information, Rajamouli would have offered Hemsworth a small but important secondary role, without it having transpired at the moment if the Australian actor has accepted the offer. The news (or if you prefer, rumour) is based on the fact that the Indian filmmaker has recently signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the same agency that represents Hemsworth, a performer who is particularly popular in India. Given the increasingly international vocation and projection of Rajamouli’s films, this movement has been interpreted by many media outlets as a way of gaining access to various Western talents who can give his films greater visibility. Without going any further Rajamouli already had in ‘RRR’ with the British Ray Stevenson, an actor who perhaps not by chance worked with Hemsworth in the first three Thor films. The time will tell
