Audi’s new technology will remove CO2 from the atmosphere

Audi is still working on green technologies to help our planet. Her latest idea is an unusual filter that allows CO2 to be removed from the atmosphere. The constant increase in the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has kept scientists awake at night for years. It is the main cause of the greenhouse effect, causing the temperature on our planet to rise. For years, scientists have been working on ways to remove this gas from the atmosphere, and Audi presented another idea. The German concern has established cooperation with Krajete, a company specializing in green technology, which results in a new one filter to remove CO2 from the air. Its modular design allows for expansion, so it can be easily adapted to specific needs. The invention uses an inorganic filter material to help maximize the effectiveness of the Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology. Another great advantage of the solution is that the filtered ambient air does not need to be pre-dried. This greatly improves performance while lowering operating costs. The filter was installed in one of the factories in Austria, where annually, it will remove 500 tons of CO2 from the air. Scientists this year plan to add another module, which will increase its efficiency to 1,000 tons of CO2 per year. It is worth noting that the collected CO2 is a raw material that can be used for industrial applications or for permanent storage. After the full absorption process is completed, the filtered air is returned to the atmosphere.
