Liam Neeson, Joe Keery and Georgina Campbell to star in David Koepp’s adaptation of ‘Below Zero’

Liam Neeson, Joe Keery and Georgina Campbell, new star of ‘Barbarian’, one of the great phenomena of the year, will lead the cast of ‘cold-storage’film adaptation of David Koepp’s novel that we know in Spain as ‘Below zero’. Koepp himself, screenwriter of ‘Jurassic Park’, ‘Mission: Impossible’ or ‘Spider-Man’ among many others, will sign the script for this film that he will also produce with Gavin Polone, with Jonny Campbell (‘A casual vacancy’, ‘ Informer’) in charge of his direction, in what will be his debut in cinematographic direction. The project, financed entirely by StudioCanal, will be one of many that will attend the American Film Market 2022 that will take place in Santa Monica, California, from November 1 to 6 in search of its future. The official synopsis of the novel, published in Spain by HarperCollins, is as follows: A wild and terrifying adventure about three strangers who must work together to contain a highly contagious and deadly organism. With fast-paced action, a sharp sense of humor, and a brilliant display of character and storytelling prowess, Below Zero is a unique thriller that is highly enjoyable and addictive to read. Thirty-two years ago Robert Diaz, part of a secret Pentagon team, traveled to the Australian desert to investigate a possible biochemical attack. What he found was much worse: A fungus-like organism with high mutating abilities and epidemic destructive power. He then managed to contain it in an underground cold chamber inside a highly protected military facility. Now those government facilities have been dismantled and sold to a storage company. The organism, forgotten for decades, seems to have found a way out and is mutating faster than ever. Diaz, already retired, is urgently summoned to help two security guards, unwitting heroes: An ex-convict and a single mother, who strive every day to try to straighten lives. Diaz knows exactly what is at stake, and his two new companions will learn as they go, coming face to face with the dire effects of the organism. The goal, once again, seems simple: Quarantine this horror and save all of humanity.
