Movistar Plus+ has announced ‘Greyhounds’, a new original series produced by Buendía Estudios that revolves around the Somarriba family and Grupo Galgo, a food giant that has seen three of its generations grow. The crisis in the sector, fueled by internal corruption, pressure from private labels, the threat of new regulations that seek healthier food or the possible closure of the oldest factory in the group, cause a series of chain events that will shake the pillars of the Somarriba family. It is now when loyalty, love, trust and family will have to be measured against betrayal, selfishness, control and deceit.
‘Greyhounds’ is a business and family drama with an ensemble cast that includes Adriana Ozores, Scar Martínez, Marcel Borrs, Patricia Lpez Arnaiz, Mara Pedraza, Jorge Usn, Francesco Carril, Luis Bermejo and Daniela Estay. Written by Clara Roquet, Francisco Kosterlitz, Pablo Remn and Luca Carballal and directed by Flix Viscarret and Nelly Reguera, the series began filming last September in Madrid, and will continue until the end of December touring different locations in Madrid, Cantabria and Brussels. Carmina Somarriba (Ozores) and Emilio Somarriba (Bermejo) are the heirs of Grupo Galgo, a family business specializing in pastries, chocolates and baby food. The crisis in the sector, the imminent arrival of the sugar law and the lack of leadership of Emilio, president of Galgo since his father died, mean that the company is not going through its best moment. Gonzalo Díaz (Martínez), Carmina’s husband, after many years working alongside Emilio has his own plans for the company, but a sudden and unexpected decision by Carmina causes a family and business earthquake that will also affect his children Blanca (López Arniz), Guzmn (Borrs), Jimena (Pedraza) and Julin (Usn). The struggle for power will separate them, and Carmina will have to choose between saving the company or her family.
