First trailer for 'Is it the enemy? Gila's film'

Filmax presents the first trailer and the first poster of what we will finally know as 'Is it the enemy? Gila's film'a film directed by Alexis Morante previously titled 'Gila: Is he the enemy?' about the unforgettable figure of Miguel Gila, pioneer of stand-up in Spanish and a leading comedian of the 20th century.

'Is it the enemy? Gila's film' is an optimistic fable about a young Miguel Gila in the Civil War. At 17, Miguel goes to the war and there, he survives misery, battles and his own execution thanks to his gift: humor. In Madrid in 1936, a young man named Miguel Gila lives peacefully and happily with his grandparents in a humble attic. But the outbreak of the Civil War forces Miguel, along with his friend Pedro, to go to the fight. There Gila survives misery, battles, execution and prison thanks to his humor. Because of this unique way of interpreting the world around him, Gila will become one of the most popular comedians in Spain and Latin America. Based on real events, on his own monologues and on “Gila's book. Comic anthology of work and life” Published by Blackie Books, the film, written by Alexis Morante himself together with Raúl Santos, tells us about Miguel's transformation into Gila, the comedian we all know, and reinvents all those moments that years later would inspire his jokes.

'Is it the enemy? Gila's film' The film stars an actor, comedian and magician Óscar Lasarte, who plays Miguel Gila in his first leading role. Carlos Cuevas, Natalia De Molina, Salva Reina, Iván Villanueva, Antonio Bachiller, David Elvira, Adelfa Calvo, Pedro Casablanc and Vicente Romero complete the main cast. Shot in different locations in Bizkaia, it is a production of Pecado Films (José Alba, Odile Antonio-Baez), Arcadia Motion Pictures (Ibon Cormenzana, Ignasi Estapé, Sandra Tapia, Ángel Durández) and Philmo Capital AIE in co-production with Nu Boyana Portugal (Pedro Domingo, Celine Fernandes), with the participation of RTVE, Movistar Plus+, Canal Sur and 3Cat, funding from the ICAA and the participation of CreaSGR.

'Is it the enemy? Gila's film' will be released in Spanish cinemas on December 13 by Filmax, after a screening at the San Sebastian Film Festival where its world premiere will take place.
