Filming begins on 'Idols', a film about the fascinating world of the MotoGP championship

On August 29th, filming began 'Idols'. Set in the World Motorcycle Championship, the film explores the human relationships between a father and his son, a manager and his rider, and the whole world around them: ambition, overcoming, ego, adrenaline, love, forgiveness and second chances. Antonio, the father, a retired motorcyclist with traumas from the past, decides to train his impulsive and talented son, Edu, so that he can develop his full potential and become the best in the same discipline… all this following a strict training that demands no distractions, one of them: falling in love. Edu is a very aggressive young motorcycle racer who no team trusts. Eli, head of the Aspar Team in Moto2, offers him an opportunity on the condition that his father, Antonio Belardi, trains him. Edu has not seen his father for many years, a former pilot who retired from the tracks after causing the death of another pilot during a race. Although Edu hates his father for abandoning him, he knows that only with him can he achieve his dream. Edu will submit to the strict preparation control that Antonio demands of him, which includes putting love aside… Until he meets Luna, a young artist who has just opened a tattoo parlour just below his house. Óscar Casas, Ana Mena, Claudio Santamaría, Enrique Arce, Saul Nanni and Simone Baldasseroni star in this film whose shooting will take place over 10 weeks in different locations in Spain, Italy and other countries around the world. The big screen debutant Mat Whitecross ('This England', 'The Sound of 007') directs from a script by Jordi Gasull ('Buffalo Kids'), Ricky Roxburgh ('Monsters at Work') and Inma Cánovas ('Angels Inc').

'Idols' is a production of 4 Cats Pictures, Warner Bros. Entertainment Spain, Mogambo Productions, Anangu Grup, Imperio Contraataca AIE, Warner Bros.
