Sunrise Films has shared the trailer for 'Bonus Track', a teen romantic musical that will be released in the US on October 11, 2024. The film had its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival to generally positive reviews. The year is 2006 and George, a sixteen-year-old boy from a small town, is on a path to complete social and academic failure. He dreams of being a star, he knows he's a talented musician, but no one else seems to believe in him. So when Max, the son of a mega-famous musical duo, enrolls at his school and takes an interest in his music, George can't believe it! No one else can believe it. But as the boys grow closer, George begins to question why he really wants to spend time with Max… George is faced with a possible dream come true – if only he can figure out what that dream really is now. The film is directed by Julia Jackman from a screenplay written by Mike Gilbert, who in turn based it on a story by Gilbert and Golden Globe winner Josh O'Connor. The 'Challengers' star will also appear in the film in a cameo. The cast includes Joe Anders as George, Samuel Paul Small as Max, Susan Wokoma and Ellie Kendrick among others. The film is executive produced by O'Connor, Caroline Cooper Charles, Laura Grange, Sophie Green, Pietro Greppi, Stephen Kelliher, Martha Kinn, Jan Pace, James Riley, Michael Smith, Julia Stuart and Safitri Widagdo.
