While waiting for the premiere of 'Paddington in Peru' next January, the film distributor StudioCanal has announced that we already have on the way both 'Paddington 4' as a future TV series. During an appearance at the recent European convention Brand Licensing 2024, StudioCanal CEO Françoise Guyonnet revealed that both projects are already in development: “We are also working on a new TV series and a new Paddington movie that will be released in 2027 or 2028,” Guyonnet said. It should be noted that, if the film ends up being released in 2028, the premiere would coincide with the 70th anniversary of the character's existence, as Paddington first appeared in 1958 in British writer Michael Bond's book, 'A Bear Called Paddington'. Directed by Dougal Wilson, the third film in the franchise, 'Paddington in Peru' is set to arrive on November 8, 2024 in the United Kingdom, on January 3, 2025 in Spain and on January 17, 2025 in the United States. Paul King, director of the first two instalments, has contributed story to this new film starring Ben Whishaw, Imelda Staunton, Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Antonio Banderas and Olivia Colman among others. The film follows Paddington (reprised by Ben Whishaw) and the Brown family as they visit Aunt Lucy, who is now residing at the Home for Retired Bears. With the Brown family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountaintops of Peru.
