Published on September 24, 2024 MADRID, September 20 (EUROPA PRESS) – The trade deficit fell 10.7% between January and July of this year compared to the same period last year, reaching 19,036 million euros, according to The Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Business reported this Friday. Until July, exports of goods reached 228,375 million euros, the second best figure in the historical series for the same period, although 0.9% lower than that registered in the first seven months of 2023. For their part, Imports exceeded 237,411.3 million euros between January and July, which represents a decrease of 1.7% compared to the same period in 2023. The non-energy balance showed a deficit of 1,192.5 million euros, 40.3 % less, while the energy deficit was reduced by 7.7%, to 17,843.7 million euros. In this way, according to the Ministry, the coverage rate improved eight tenths, up to 92.3%. The sectors that presented the greatest surplus until July were food, beverages and tobacco (11,832.8 million euros), automobiles (5,466 million) and non-chemical semi-manufactures (3,941.9 million).
