ICEX and FATE sign an agreement to promote the Spanish 'foodtech' sector

MADRID Oct. 15 (EUROPA PRESS) – ICEX Spain Exportation and Investments and FATE (Food&Agri Tech Europe) have signed an agreement for the development of activities to promote the 'foodtech' sector, with the aim of consolidating a community of Spanish companies with international projection within this market. The signed agreement involves the development of activities to promote the sector, which function as a lever for the modernization and efficiency of the Spanish agri-food sector, while consolidating its international positioning. The agreement, which will have an execution period until December 31, 2025, extendable for two additional years, establishes a general collaboration framework for taking advantage of the synergies between both institutions, both in training and advice on internationalization actions, as well as in the dissemination of activities to support the internationalization of the 'foodtech' and 'agritech' sector. Thus, in its training and dissemination work, FATE will be able to count on ICEX experts in seminars and events that it organizes, as well as in dialogue forums with the community of associated companies, with the aim of satisfying all the issues that arise in the internationalization process. In addition, ICEX will provide companies in the FATE ecosystem with information about all the services and activities that may be of interest to them. For its part, FATE may use the distinctive 'Foods and Wines from Spain' ('FWS') in the promotion of the activities carried out under this agreement, providing all the values ​​associated with this ICEX sector brand, which has with wide recognition in international markets. Both institutions will also work together on the classification and taxonomy of companies in the 'foodtech' sector that exist in Spain and will create a working group to analyze the needs that Spanish companies in the sector have in their internationalization process. The CEO of ICEX, Elisa Carbonell, highlights the importance that institutions like FATE can play in consolidating and energizing the innovative 'agrifoodtech' ecosystem. Furthermore, the vice president of Institutional Relations of FATE-Food&Agritech Europe, Mariano Oto, has pointed out that the Spanish ecosystem has demonstrated its dynamism and significant diversity in the 'foodtech' sector. In short, the agreement highlights this important industry to catalyze its development, promote business collaboration and relations in foreign markets, and thus promote its internationalization.
