C-LM exports reach 7,810 million until September, almost 6% more than in 2023

TOLEDO Nov. 18 (EUROPA PRESS) – Exports in Castilla-La Mancha until September 2024 reached the figure of 7,810.1 million euros, which represents an increase of 5.8% compared to the same period in 2023. This is reflected in the latest report prepared by the Territorial Directorate of Commerce-ICEX in Castilla-La Mancha, with data provided by the Customs Department of the AEAT to this Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Business, reported in a press release. In Spain, exports decreased by 0.3%, reaching 286,805.8 million euros. By provinces, until September 2024 Toledo occupied the first position, with 2,248.0 million euros in exports (+6.8%); Guadalajara, with 1,962.3 million, is in second place (+13.4%). Ciudad Real is the third exporting province, with 1,845.3 million euros (+2.4%), and is followed by the provinces of Albacete with 1,156.4 million euros (+4.6%), and Cuenca, with 598.2 million euro, which registers a decrease in exports of 6.6%. For its part, imports from the region reached 12,325.6 million euros, increasing by 9.5%, while in Spain they fell 1.0% to 313,896.9 million. By importing provinces, Guadalajara is in first place, with an increase of 7.4%, followed by Toledo (+15.4%), Albacete (+10.9%), Ciudad Real (-5.9%), and Cuenca (+25.3%). The trade balance of the region until September 2024 stood, therefore, at -4,515.5 million euros, while the coverage rate (Xs/Ms) stood at 63.6%, still clearly lower than the national average (91.3%). Until September 2024, the Food, Beverages and Tobacco sector occupied the first position in regional exports with 2,736.0 million euros, representing 35.0% of the total exported by Castilla-La Mancha and registering an increase of 13.2 % compared to the same period in 2023. Next, Capital Goods stands out with 1,968.5 million euros and an increase of 1.8%, representing 25.2% of all regional exports. In third place are Consumer Manufacturing with 941.3 million euros, registering a decrease of -0.7% and representing 12.1% of the regional total.

IMPORTING SECTORS

Until September 2024, imports from the Capital Goods sectors stand out with 3,956.7 million euros and, an increase of 9.1%, Food, beverages and tobacco with a value of 2,034.8 million euros (+4. 5%) and, Consumer manufacturing with 1,529.0 million euros (+5.1%). Until September 2024, the EU accounted for the bulk of Castilla-La Mancha's exports, representing 76.4% of the total. In the Euro zone, Portugal is the main client with 1,775.1 million euros (+9.3%), followed by France with 1,295.8 million (+2.5%), Germany with 853.0 million (+8 .1%) and Italy with 811.0 million euros (+21.3%). For its part, outside the EU, exports to the United Kingdom stood at 305.1 million, with a drop of 10.0%, to Turkey they were 146.2 million (+18.2%) and to Russia 12, 6 million (+27.1%). Outside the closest environment, exports to the United States stand out (261.7 million euros, +10.7%), Canada (24.8 million euros, +16.3%), Mexico (64.5 million euros, -16 .0%), Chile (24.2 million euro, -10.8%), Brazil (20.7 million euro, -21.4%), and Argentina (7.5 million euro, -15.9%) . On the other hand, Morocco (122.3 million euros, +8.4%), Algeria (4.5 million euros, +1,350.2%) and the Middle East (93.7 million euros, -19.3%) stand out. . In Asia, Japan stands out with 108.6 million euros, with a growth of 14.1%, and China (100.4 million euros, -12.4%), while South Korea reaches 50.1 million euros (+8, 9%). Regarding imports, 73.2% are of Community origin (mainly Germany and France). Outside the EU, 8.6% from the main non-EU supplier is China, with 1,063.8 million, which rose 4.2% compared to the same period in 2023.
