BeaverLab Tech has launched a Kickstarter fundraising campaign for the new Darwin MX Pro digital microscope. The device, powered by Android 13, can enlarge the image up to 2,200 times. Anyone who loves biology and would like to continue developing in this direction needs a microscope. In the past, these devices were rarely available and very expensive, but the development of technology has completely changed this. Today, this type of devices are not only digital, and therefore much more convenient to use, but also much cheaper. Their example is the Darwin MX Pro, which has just appeared on Kickstater.
Darwin MX Pro state-of-the-art digital microscope
This technological innovation is the work of BeaverLab Tech and is designed to be not only comfortable to use, but also functional. The microscope is operated from a 9-inch IPS touch screen, and its operation is managed by Android 13. Using the equipment is very simple and resembles using a typical smartphone or tablet. Microscope uses multi-layer optical lenses that help reduce glare and reflectionsproviding better image contrast. Three sets of lenses enable optical magnification of 16x, 60x and 100x and integrated system magnification of 100x, 800x and 2200x. The X and Y axis of the microscope base can be adjusted within +/- 5 mm, and the Z axis within 40 mm.
Functionality and ease of use
The preparations are illuminated from the top and bottom with white LED diodeswhich ensures better visibility. The device can additionally emit RGB lightthus revealing internal structures of the samples that are not visible under white light alone. Built-in mapping and testing tools simplify cell counting. A 1/3-inch sensor with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a pixel size of 2 μm was used to image the samples. Images are saved as JPG files with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, and in addition, the equipment also records videos in MP4 format, with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a speed of 30 fps.. The materials are then saved on the eMMC memory with a capacity of 8 GB. The image of the samples is displayed on a touch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600, but it can also be sent via Wi-Fi to external monitors or TVs. This allows more people to view more of the sample at the same time.
