Still pining for more DC content even after the past 48-hour whirlwind of tweets and speculation? We’ve got you covered.
Director Zack Snyder, as of today, updated us with another close-up of the Man of Steel himself, Henry Cavill, although this black-and-white action shot seems to be lifted from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, as opposed to the Justice League crossover movie which made the headlines this last weekend.
In case you missed it: talk of the fabulous Snyder Cut gained traction yet again, after lead actors Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), and Ray Fisher (Cyborg) each expressed their solidarity with the director’s rumored alternative cut. Sources close to the Warner Bros. share that there aren’t any immediate proposals to release the Snyder Cut, assuming cut actually exists, but that has not stopped the online campaign.
To be honest, there is still a vast mystery that is surrounding Cavill’s future – or lack thereof – as DC’s Kal-El. It was not too long ago when the trades were reporting that Henry Cavill was actually finished with his role, as the star migrated over to The Witcher on the Netflix show, which is in itself a meaty and taxing gig.
So it could be possible that the Justice League will be remembered as Cavill’s final outing as the Man of Steel, leaving Warner Bros. to fire out a cover for the next era of DC films. There are as of now no immediate for Superman’s return – not yet, at least – as the Powers That Be are centered intently on The Batman, Wonder Woman 1984, Birds of Prey, and The Suicide Squad.
But let’s not forget, there’s still hope that there’s a place in this world for the Snyder Cut? And as always, we’ll keep you updated at all times as more information comes to the surface.
