There hasn't been a single episode of the anime adaptation of Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru ( My Dress-Up Darling ) that hasn't been talked about on social media, generally in a positive way. On this occasion, a new segment in which Marin Kitagawa removes some accessories making her breasts wobble has attracted the attention of the public, especially for the animation work.
The episode in question was discussed on commentary forums in Japan, where it inspired a variety of opinions such as the following: " Kitagawa-san is too cute for us to deserve "; " I love gyaru girls who are nice to otaku "; " That's what I mean, a girl who is not pretentious, that alone makes her perfect "; " This is the kind of development that makes any otaku nervous "; " The animators seem to be too enthusiastic about drawing and animating Marin-chan's breasts "; " From this point the romantic comedy begins "; and " I wish we had a girl like her at my school… "
The comments on Twitter, however, seem to be more witty and focused on the scenes in question: " For every frame of that boob movement an animator dies "; « But what the hell with the fan-service brother! »; « It is incredible to me how mentally useless the My Dress-Up Darling haters can be, it is that they are absolutely sure that the fans of the work are the ones obsessed with boobs when the only ones who touch on the subject are them, here we are some fat simps of romance »; « More budget than the arc of My Villain Academia »; « The budget went to the most important thing. It makes up for the shit that was Yakusoku no Neverland 2nd Season »; and " When fans highlight these kinds of things over story and personality, it's because the anime is complete shit ."
The series has been broadcast since January 8 and is confirmed with twelve episodes, while the Crunchyroll and Funimation platforms will handle its distribution in the West. For his part, Fukuda has been publishing the manga in Square Enix 's Young Gangan magazine since January 2018. The publisher published the seventh compilation volume in April 2021, followed by the eighth on October 25 in Japan.
