The KBS 2TV drama «Curtain Call » (Trad. Lit. «Call to Scene«, which was previously known as «The Tree Dies Standing«), is about an old North Korean woman who does not have long to live and a stage actor who acts as her grandson to fulfill her last wish. Ja Geum Soon is a woman born in 1930 in North Korea. She escapes to South Korea during the war and is separated from her husband and son. While she waits for her family, she establishes Hotel Nakwon, a hotel chain in South Korea. Jae Heon is an unknown stage actor who acts as Ja Geum Soon’s grandson, named Moon Sung, to fulfill her wish. Park Se Yeon is Geum Soon’s granddaughter who is in charge of the Nakwon Hotel.
Kang Ha Neul will play an actor named Yoo Jae Heon who poses as the grandson of a woman who defected from North Korea and now lives in South Korea, as the owner of the grand hotel “Nakwon.”
