In a recent interview and photo shoot for 1st Look magazine, the 4 male leads of the new tvN drama, “Alchemy of Souls”, they talked about their chemistry and friendship… Written by the famous writing duo known as the Hong Sisters, “Alchemy of Souls” is a new fantasy romance drama set in the fictional nation of Daeho, a country that does not exist in history or on maps. The drama tells the story of characters whose destinies go awry due to magic that swaps people’s souls.
Lee Jae Wook plays the sophisticated yet troubled young master Jang Wook, who has the entire nation of Daeho whispering about the shocking secret behind his scandalous birth. Min Hyun plays Seo Youl, the genius descendant of the noble Seo family, while Yoo In Soo He plays the popular and outgoing Park Dang Gu, who is the heir to the wealthy Park family and their business empire. Finally, Shin Seungho plays Go Won, the petty and ill-tempered crown prince of Daeho. Explaining that they have all become good friends in real life, the four stars commented, “I think we were able to get closer because we are all around the same age. Since we were able to find things we had in common, it was easy for us to talk and understand each other. Now, we know each other so well that we can finish each other’s sentences.”
The actors also expressed confidence in how their friendship and chemistry in real life add to the strength of their drama. “Putting aside the individual roles that each of us plays, we believe that the chemistry between the actors shines through in the drama,” they said. “Even when we feel tired on the film set, if we joke around and have fun chatting with each other, we gain strength again when it comes time to stand in front of the camera; and it seems that [esa química] it becomes a driving force that allows us to immerse ourselves in our performance.”
Min Hyun He added that he already had admiration for his co-stars before working with them on “Alchemy of Souls”. “The other three guys are actors who have previously made me think, ‘Wow, that actor is really cool,'” he said. Min Hyun. “While working on this drama together, I learned many things from watching them, acting obviously, but also many other things. Since it was comfortable and fun every time we met on set, the atmosphere during filming became better and better.” He also revealed that the four of them hang out together outside of the film set, explaining, “We often go out together to eat delicious food and stuff like that.”
