Sure, being my favorite genre I would love to star in one of those stories that keep you on the edge of your seat trying to reveal a criminal, while I find a good partner, or teammate, that romance is not needed here!! How about seeing my life turned upside down by a series of murders related to me in some way, obviously I’m not the killer), or falling in love with someone only to find out they’re from the future, and here to kill me, but end up saving me by realizing that follow the orders of those who sent it to my time, is not it right?? How about dismantling an inhuman organization that intends to profit from innocent children using them as guinea pigs to enrich the leaders of a religious sect related to political leaders? Of course, my team and I would take away all the ill-gotten money they have accumulated, we would have all the corrupt who have protected and helped them exposed and their assets seized to be destined for the various orphanages that barely survive with hundreds of children in their care, whom they then throw into a world that exploits them and blames them for their misfortune?? oh!! I would feel that I have done good to the world!! Because they are not going to put more abused children who grow up in oblivion wanting to charge the world what they lived for their indifference as in «nobody knows” either “Children of Nobody«. What if I were a detective? Surely I would walk around with a lot of bruises from the blows I’ve given myself and I don’t remember when that happened!! I can brag about my observation and analysis skills but not my physical ability, so I don’t know how good I could be in this profession… But, let’s think that this is a dream where everything is possible, so I would be a born genius to solve crimes in this reality. And my good (or bad) luck makes my partner the team’s most experienced detective who is just below the captain in authoritative stature, and just like in “The Good Detective“, he is suspected of framing someone in a case that he solved for 10 years. behind. He insists that everything is in order, but of course I don’t believe him and of course I’m very nosy, and I mean to the level where I break into his house to find out what really happened 10 years ago. Because the first place you should look for evidence records is a house. Obviously, my partner finds me because, just as I am in real life, my imaginary counterpart is extremely clumsy. He helps me anyway, and we found out that the human trafficking allegations were just a cover-up for the murders that took place to silence the people who found out the conglomerate was involved in narcotics. We arrest the parties involved, the trial is complete, but all this time I’ve been keeping a secret. Something that threatens to ruin everything I’ve built with my superior. But since I saw Taxi driver , I became convinced that being part of a secret organization that gets revenge for those in need would be intensely fun. Of course, I would be the suave and extremely charming leading lady who takes the lead, and of course I work with a trusted team. “Pure double-lined notebook, no loose sheets” (means only great friends, no suspicious newcomers, and it’s a phrase we use in Mexico). But as always, we have someone chasing us, and surprise, surprise, it’s my love interest… It can’t be!! Why do I always fall in love with who I shouldn’t??? 😀 😀 😀 Oh!! No wait, there can’t be any “love interest” here, so let’s just say, for continuity purposes, that it’s my work partner who’s after me. Yes, I am a police officer taking matters into his own hands, and my partner’s next mission is to find me. Now me and my partner arrested a Chaebol heir, and because he is a K-Drama, he is immediately rescued by his family. That’s when we meet Doctor Prisoner , who is on his own mission for revenge, and more specifically, against the very guy I want revenge on myself… Now we plan our revenge together, but my partner is getting closer to us, too close for my comfort. I try to throw him off, but that only brings him closer to finding my other identity. This all culminates in a huge car chase where he catches me and finally lets me go because I didn’t report him for his past misdemeanors. Revenge is finally carried out, and all is well, until this turns into a murder show that seems endless, unless I stop the criminal and those who have supported him in exchange for financial gain. What if a cruel murderer had hidden himself as a kind person and was by my side as a great friend? OMG!! After the fiasco with my hidden identity and all that, my partner finally decides to retire, and now I’m the sunbae dealing with a rookie. Just in time, because for the past few weeks someone has been murdering young men and women who are apparently completely unrelated. My partner and I seem to be getting nowhere, until the killer issues a public challenge, asking me to solve the mystery of his identity or he’s going to kill my brother. Ok, I don’t have any brothers, but that killer thinks I do and I don’t know who he means!! But, the murderer takes the life of someone whom I considered a brother and I couldn’t stop him and now he asks me to send him the rookie in my charge or he will kill more people and on top of that he gives me a deadline… My partner and I have to put our heads to work we can’t lose anyone else!! We finally find out that those who have died, were somehow related to my hoobae and he has to reveal the backstory of him: he grew up in an orphanage and day by day he saw children being adopted except him. Although he was not the only one. There was a special section of children who never seemed to be adopted. One day, he found out that they were actually lab rats, not orphans, and that his parents voluntarily gave him away to investigate. This, of course, would lead the rest of the team to suspect him, but something is wrong with me, Mmmmmhhh!!. After so many crimes and chases, my Hoobae and I discovered a painful truth: There was a missing person, erased from all records, the rookie’s twin sister. She was also used for research, but eventually, when the experiment didn’t go as expected with her, she was abandoned. We run to find her and, in the confrontation, she explains that she had to live her life alone and disfigured, when the rest of them were able to live in peace after the lab was closed. She forgives my partner, but she refuses to go to jail, so she shoots her brother, though not to death, before escaping. The rookie recovers, the search for his sister continues, and we continue to work together. Every story has a conclusion, and so does this one. What happens after this case depends on the imagination: yours and mine. Does the protagonist get involved in the mystery of a sect (which unfortunately in Korea there are many!!), does she get entangled with zombies and live a fun adventure with a zombie sleuth which, luckily for me, looks too much like Choi Jin-hyukor gain the ability to see ghosts in a village that almost no one can access as in «Missing the Other Side“, or study to become the best criminal profiler and work alongside Kim Nam Gil for go through the dark?? No one can know! Of course, I would never go for a walk in a remote forest covered in mist (and I have one near home), with only my husband, no sir, «trap» taught me that you should never go to those kinds of places!! 😀 😀 The good thing is that this genre is the one with the best chance of getting second seasons in its development!!
