The Estonian company Clevon will soon launch its newest autonomous supplier CLEVON 1 on the American roads. The machine will operate in the Dallas area, where the manufacturer’s new headquarters is located. In a few more years and thousands of people currently working as couriers and suppliers, they will have to look for a new job. The rapid development of technology will soon replace them with autonomous machines. They will independently deliver the ordered products to buyers. Such robots are already working, although for the time being on a small scale, but there will be more and more of them every year. They will also include CLEVON 1, a technology developed by engineers from the Estonian company Clevon, which will soon hit American roads. The company has just announced a new headquarters in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and it is probably there that you will be able to see the robotic supplier first.
The autonomous vehicle is powered by an electric motor that enables development of a speed of about 50 km / h. However, the battery on one charge is enough to cover a distance of 80 km. The manufacturer also made sure that the battery could be charged quickly, as it can be done in a traditional way, i.e. with a plug or wirelessly. In 45 minutes, you can replenish the battery from 20 to 80 percent of its capacity. The robot can also carry a load of 100 kg, so it can take quite a lot of shipments at once. Unlike other robotic couriers, however, it is not designed to travel on sidewalks or bicycle paths, but on public roads. The Estonian company assures that the vehicle has been tested in various climatic conditions, so it will operate efficiently in any weather. The CLEVON 1 is now available in Europe in several different versions designed for specific tasks. Thanks to the universal platform it can be adapted to the needs of trade, logistics, transport and security, among others.
