James Spader returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe

As The Hollywood Reporter reports, James Spader is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to the surprising news, Spader will reprise his role as Ultron in the upcoming Marvel Studios series, 'Vision'. Let's remember that the actor played Ultron in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', at which time the iconic villain was introduced in the MCU. The relationship between Vision and Ultron also dates back to the 2015 film. In it, Vision was initially created by uploading Tony Stark's AI JARVIS into a synthetic body to combat Ultron, which was originally a global defense program created by Stark. The film ends with Vision destroying Ultron's last known body, seemingly defeating him. It's unclear what role Ultron will play in the upcoming Disney+ series, or if his appearance means he'll be present in other future MCU projects. At the moment, no plot details have been revealed for the series, the casting of which is yet to be announced. The 'Vision' series has been in development for several years by Marvel. WandaVision creator Jac Schaefer was initially said to be working on the series, but is currently working on the WandaVision spin-off Agatha All Along, which is set to premiere this September. In Avengers: Age of Ultron, the AI JARVIS was uploaded into a body made of vibranium and, with some help from the Mind Stone, became the superhero known as Vision. Paul Bettany went on to play the role in Captain America: Civil War (2016) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018), in the latter of which he was killed by Thanos.
